Dai Vinci’s school years were spent doodling on the pages of his workbooks, doing linework instead of homework.

A sketchbook was his constant companion. This came in handy in comprehensive school, hidden in the seat of his trousers while receiving a whack from the cane for inattentiveness in class.

Art has been a constant throughout the life of Dai. He left school at 18 to undertake a five year apprenticeship as a student engraver at a major coin production facility in Llantrisant. He has worked as an artist and designer in the world of coin and medal design for over thirty five years. But we don’t want to talk about that here.
